Senforce Technologies™ Inc., provider of location-aware enterprise endpoint security, announced that the U.S. Department of Justice has signed a comprehensive Enterprise License Agreement for its innovative endpoint and mobile security solutions. The sweeping agreement permits its more than 35 DOJ offices, bureaus, agencies and divisions -- spanning more than 100,000 federal employees -- to deploy Senforce security software throughout their organizations. The contract is only the second information security enterprise license ever awarded by the DOJ, and the latest in a growing list of government contracts won by Senforce.

Under terms of the four-year deal, the DOJ gains access to the industry's most comprehensive endpoint security solution available today. The agreement encompasses the Senforce EMSM (Enterprise Mobile Security Manager) software architecture. EMSM provides a single, consolidated and extensible approach for firewall protection, integrity control, intrusion prevention, wireless connectivity control, wireless suppression, and application and storage device control. It also enables VPN (virtual private network) enforcement and anti-virus integrity checks, among other key capabilities such as comprehensive auditing and reporting.

Through its centralized management system, Senforce empowers the DOJ to protect network and mobile endpoints from unscrupulous users, software worms, Trojans, viruses and other types of malware that run rampant on the Internet. CSO magazine, in cooperation with the United States Secret Service and the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute's CERT Coordination Center, reports that 70% of major organizations suffered at least one e-crime or network intrusion last year. Proper mobile and endpoint security represent important steps toward minimizing or eliminating such security incidents.

Security Meets Compliance

The Senforce software also allows the DOJ to more easily comply with FISMA (Federal Information Security Management Act).

Other key components of the Senforce EMSM solution include:

* An Authority Service that provides initial "credentials" to clients, monitors user and group changes within a network directory and updates the policy service to proactively protect mobile systems.

* A Policy Service that stores and distributes group security policies for mobile clients.

* A Reporting Service that gathers and stores security policy and client compliance information. Reporting information is viewed through either a Web-based interface or with third-party reporting tools.

* A Policy Editor for creating and deploying group security policies.

* And a Mobile Security Client that resides on the mobile computer, receives policies from the Policy Service, and enforces security on mobile clients as they move from location to location.

Senforce EMSM is based on extremely strong core technologies, yet where other security products can be restrictive in nature, Senforce is flexible and scalable while enabling centralized management and control over policies related to compliance. The solution gives the DOJ the ability to control security policies automatically by pushing security policies out to clients, enforcing them, and generating audit reports that demonstrate how the organization is in compliance with FISMA. Senforce has proven a reliable, trusted solution that enables mobility and productivity while securing users and the organization.

Federal Customers Embrace Senforce Security Solutions

Senforce focuses on multiple vertical markets, with a particular emphasis on the federal government. In recent months, the company has secured multiple license agreements with various government agencies, including the U.S. Air Force.

"Our agreement with the DOJ is the latest example of Senforce's accelerating momentum in the government sector," said Lori Lane, vice president of Senforce Federal. "Not only do we have FIPS 140-2 and other important certifications, we are well on our way to gaining Common Criteria certification, a key element in providing solutions to government agencies and businesses alike. Senforce is becoming a household name in the federal government, where major organizations are mitigating risk and entrusting their IT security to the company's innovative solutions."
