McAfee VirusScan for Home Users Scores 100% in AV-Test.Org Anti-Virus Tests
McAfee, Inc., provider of intrusion prevention solutions, announced that it has received the highest marks possible for detecting viruses in recent independent tests conducted by AV-Test.org, a highly accredited independent research organization specializing in the IT security industry.
According to the test results, McAfee's VirusScan for home users detected and removed 100% of viruses "in the wild" tested against it. Results of the anti-virus testing can be viewed at http://www.av-test.org . AV-Test.org collaborates with the Otto-Von-Guericke University of Magdeburg, Germany.

About AV-Test.org
AV-Test.org is a joint-research project of the University Magdeburg and AV-Test GmbH. The Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg is located in Germany and has over 13500 students. The tests are conducted in the research labs at the Workgroup Business Information Systems at the Institute of Technical and Business Information systems. Currently, the virus test lab has two professors and approximately 15 students working regularly on virus replication, analysis and tests of anti-virus products.
