Sana Security, Inc., provider of intrusion prevention software (IPS), announced a worldwide OEM agreement with Softex Inc. to deliver the Softex OmniPass product line, a highly scalable security system for consumers and enterprises providing single password management, user, device and network authentication with fingerprint devices, smartcards, wands, TPMs and BIOS and encryption capabilities, with Sana's Attack Shield WS, a solution specifically designed to protect against the highest risk attack class seen recently -- network worms.

Attack Shield WS, the first of the Attack Shield family of products from Sana Security, will provide Softex customer's built-in protection for Microsoft Windows core services at the operating system (OS) level from code injection exploits, the largest class of Internet attacks, without any end-user administration or maintenance. Because Attack Shield WS can be embedded at the OS level by the world's top device manufacturers, the partnership between Sana and Softex is a natural fit.

"More than sixty percent of the world's embedded systems are based on the Windows OS, and Sana's Attack Shield WS is the one product that can truly protect the Windows OS at the core services layer," said Apurva Bhansali, CEO, Softex Inc. "Sana's highly advanced and unique intrusion prevention offering, combined with Softex's unmatched expertise in the design and delivery of embedded systems security technology, is raising the bar for reliability, effectiveness and efficiency for our customers."

Attack Shield WS is the only IPS client suitable for mass deployment at the Windows OS because it does not require rules or signature updates. This security offering ensures a more secure end-user computing experience despite the increasing frequency and sophistication of Internet-based threats, particularly network worms, enabling businesses to improve PC and network health, business continuity, employee productivity and operational cost.

Instantly upon software installation, Attack Shield WS protects systems from known and unknown network worm attacks that target core Windows services. Not only is the product easy to use, but it also complements existing antivirus solutions by protecting systems against worms that bypass traditional processes. Providing this additional layer of security delivers immediate value to organizations by ensuring business continuity and reduced operational costs, while enabling simple, secure computing in Internet-connected businesses and government entities worldwide.

"By incorporating Attack Shield WS technology into heavily secured embedded systems designed for simplified deployment in existing environments, Sana and Softex are enabling customers to more effectively protect their critical IT assets within the constraints of current security budgets and resources," said John Zicker, CEO, Sana Security. "Sana and Softex will continue to work together to provide customers with optimal value on their IT security investments."

In addition to bundling Attack Shield WS with its OmniPass product line, Softex will also offer customers the opportunity to purchase the Sana technology directly through its on-line store as a stand-alone product.

30.11.2004, Sana Security, Inc.
