NetWorld(SM)+Interop(R) 2005, produced by MediaLive International, Inc., announced its Security Conference, which will feature the industry's leading experts in IT security. Spanning six days, the Security Conference will feature in-depth sessions that allow participants to learn how to balance deployment and defense with intensive analysis and instruction and will be led by Chairperson Dave Piscitello, President, Core Competence, Inc. One- and two-day workshops will focus on next-generation security technology ranging from Spam, spyware, and blended threats to viruses, identity theft and cyber-terrorism. NetWorld(SM)+Interop(R) 2005 will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, May 1-6.

The Security Conference, sponsored by AT&T, is one of six in-depth conferences planned for NetWorld(SM)+Interop(R) 2005, and will address current and emerging technologies that reduce risk and provide defenses and countermeasures to combat known and zero-day attacks, while enabling new applications for an increasingly mobile workforce and consumers. Each hour-long session will offer an opportunity for attendees and vendors to examine topics related to the broad spectrum of Security issues.

"For all the benefits the Internet affords us, security is proving to be one tough neighborhood, and threats undermine consumer confidence and interfere with business applications on a daily basis," said Chairperson Dave Piscitello, President, Core Competence. "The Security Conference is an essential component of NetWorld+Interop, and it is my pleasure to be joined by such a talented and knowledgeable group of IT security experts."

"Through its relationship with the NetWorld+Interop Security Conference, AT&T is proud to lend its support to the effort to safeguard customers from security threats that are growing on a daily basis," said Hossein Eslambolchi, AT&T's CIO, CTO and President of AT&T Labs and AT&T's Global Networking Technology Services. "At AT&T, for example, we have turned our network into a security device, illustrating the strong role that we believe service providers can play in protecting businesses."

The 2005 NetWorld+Interop Security Conference will include two-day tutorials and special day-long workshops that will be led by IT security experts and include the following topics:

* Internet Security: Principles, Protocol Standards & Advanced Topics, with Dr. Stephen Kent
* Prepping for the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) Exam with James M. Stewart

"NetWorld+Interop provides the forum for attendees and vendors to stand side-by-side to actively engage in an investigation and discussion of one of the most pressing business issues we face today," said Lenny Heymann, General Manager of NetWorld+Interop. "NetWorld+Interop will explore how to build comprehensive security solutions, investigating emerging network access technologies and the interactions between a wide variety of security solutions available today."

For two decades, NetWorld+Interop has provided the nuts-and-bolts training, solutions and insight attendees need to make the best decisions for their IT infrastructure. This year, the full spectrum of security technologies, products and strategies will be explored in every part of the event--the educational programs, exhibition, special programs and InteropNet, as well as two featured programs devoted to secure email and SSL VPNs.

This year's event continues a long-standing tradition of helping IT professionals learn about the latest technology innovations by focusing on six of the most vital technology trends defining the IT and networking industry today: Network Infrastructure and Services; Wireless; Security; Performance; VoIP and Collaboration; and Data Management and Compliance. NetWorld(SM)+Interop(R) will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, May 1-6, 2005.
