Securify Announces SecurVantage 5.1 at Gartner IT Security Summit 2005

Securify, Inc. announced the newest version of its SecurVantage network security management system from the Gartner IT Security Conference 2005. SecurVantage 5.1 has made a breakthrough in security technology by pairing both the positive security model with the negative model, contrasted with real time traffic -- no other technology today offers this powerful combination. The result is the ability to more accurately and precisely identify threats in real-time, with virtually no false positives, bringing blocking to a new level.
"I liken network security today to where we were with spam a few years ago," says Buck French, Securify's CEO. "When spam problems started, the industry looked to eliminate unwanted email with black lists, but the black list approach was overwhelmed by the explosive growth of spam, causing the industry to turn to a white list. It's the same with network security, as network and threat change has outgrown the ability of blacklist technology to contain risk."
SecurVantage 5.1 is the latest offering of the Securify Network Security Management System, which combines both a black and white list approach and continuously monitors all network traffic in real time to precisely identify, prioritize, and block to harden the internal network.
The key components of the system include
* Positive Model: To define the intention of every relationship in the network all the way through the application layer, quickly adapts to network change and provides the ability to prioritize critical assets.
* Negative Model: To identify known bad things in the network, with signatures and vulnerability assessment integrated into the system.
* Accurate Data: Real time traffic and continuous scanning to comprehensively see what is actually on the network.
* Action: From accurate data comes accurate analysis and precise identification, and with precise identification, the ability to take action from blocking to trouble ticketing.
The Importance of a Hardened Internal Network
By managing risk through understanding the security impact of network and threat change, enterprises can achieve a compliant, hardened network using SecurVantage 5.1. Hardening the internal network is a combination of two things: proactive network management and reactive threat response. Each relates to each other, yet only SecurVantage 5.1 brings the two together to effectively manage constantly changing environments. SecurVantage 5.1 prioritizes the workload to proactively make the most critical network changes, minimizing the potential impact of threats. SecurVantage 5.1 simultaneously prioritizes and takes action against threats, regardless of the source of threat -- including external, internal, extranet, malicious code, or hacker. By making the security impact of network and threat changes the impetus for discovery, action and workflow, Securify enables companies to harden their internal networks.
SecurVantage 5.1 operates with existing infrastructure, can be set up and productive in a matter of days, and global deployments take only a few weeks, even with the most complex networks. SecurVantage 5.1 will be available by late Summer 2005, with pricing to be announced at a later date. 07.06.2005, Securify, Inc
