T-Online directVPN is awarded the BSI "German IT Security Certificate"

Data security in the company is a highly sensitive issue. Access to confidential data and files by unauthorized persons can rapidly cause damages amounting to several thousand euro. According to the "IT Security 2004" survey, two out of three companies registered more violations of their IT security in 2004 than in the preceding year. One potential security gap can now be closed - with secure remote access to the company network via T-Online directVPN (Virtual Private Net). For this reason, the Federal Ministry for Security in Information Technology (BSI) has awarded the solution its "German IT Security Certificate".
On behalf of the BSI, the certification body of the TÜViT (cerTÜViT) performed technical examination of the software in accordance with the widely recognized BSI security guidelines. In the process, it was proven that T-Online directVPN builds a protected data transfer tunnel between networked computers. The software's authentication process also passed the TÜViT security test.
"The online security of T-Online customers, whether private or professional, is one of our paramount concerns," says Thomas Hille, board member at T-Online International AG. "We further advance our products in an ongoing process and work together with renowned companies, as well as partners in politics and society, on such initiatives as ?Germany Safely in the Net'. Certification of the T-Online directVPN solution is a gratifying confirmation that our efforts actually prove successful."
With directVPN, T-Online provides a Virtual Private Net solution for secure remote access to the company network. The strictly software-based solution builds a secure link between two or more computers via the Internet. Unlike other VPN solutions, directVPN requires neither additional hardware nor fixed IP addresses. 22.06.2005, T-Online
