Zertificon Solutions is strongly concerned about the Software Patents Directive, as approved by the European Council of Ministers. The last chance to stop these patents is the vote in planary at July 6th in Strasbourg. The FFII generated voting recommendations and asks representatives in the European Parliament to follow. Zertificon Solutions supports this appeal and the initiative "Economic Majority Against Software Patents” to protect Europe from the directive. According to Deutsche Bank Research "SMEs are crucial providers of pathbreaking innovations, but would be most adversely affected by patentability”.
