Panda Software releases a new on-demand, online scanning tool, SpyXposer, designed for users that want to carry out a full scan of their computer for spyware, the biggest security threat over the last few months. SpyXposer is completely free and may be used as often as needed. Updated daily, SpyXposer incorporates all of Panda Software's expertise in detecting spyware.

Spyware is, without a doubt, one of the biggest threats over the last few months. Data compiled by Panda ActiveScan in the second quarter of this year shows that over 50 percent of the threats reported in this period were adware and spyware. The danger of this threat is evident. In addition to the damaging effects it can have on the performance of the computer; this type of cybercrime can also steal all types of confidential information (personal details, browsing activity, bank details) to sell to third-parties.

For this reason, Panda Software designed SpyXposer to give users easy access to spyware detection tools and increase awareness of the danger of this threat. The aim of this tool is to minimize the impact of cybercrime on users' computers, which generates losses of millions of dollars worldwide. The proven experience of Panda Software in the fight against spyware has resulted in its products earning maximum efficiency in this aspect, as backed by PC Magazine who claimed it "was more successful in cleaning and blocking spyware than any of the other suites were." For this reason, the company has recently joined the Anti-Spyware Coalition (ASC), whose aim is to combat this type of malware.

SpyXposer is a tool for detecting spyware available on Panda Software's website, (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/spyxposer/com/spyxposer_principal.htm), which can be used totally free, and as often as you need it. All that is needed is an Internet connection and, with a simple click, you can carry out a scan at any time. Updated daily, SpyXposer rapidly and effectively detects spyware, and may be used as a 'second opinion' to other security solutions.

"PandaLabs is fully aware of the importance of this threat and therefore, considers the SpyXposer initiative essential," explains Luis Corrons, director of PandaLabs. "Thanks to both SpyXposer and Panda ActiveScan, which detect all types of malware, users can get a second opinion from a leading company in IT security. However, we advise users to ensure they have permanent anti- malware protection installed on their computers, and that they are completely up-to-date."
