Helping enterprise organizations protect their IT infrastructures from malicious attacks, BindView Corp. announced new capabilities in its Vulnerability and Configuration Management portfolio. bv-Control for Internet Security 8.1 provides customers with an outside-in view of their networks, much like the view of a potential attacker. The software provides administrators with a comprehensive view that helps to identify and remediate exposures, and detects both applications and devices present on corporate networks.

As evidenced in news reports, malicious exploits continue to plague organizations around the world with increasing frequency and sophistication. bv-Control for Internet Security helps to alleviate the burden on IT organizations by automatically discovering network applications and devices so that administrators are able to identify and assess network-based risks.

"Enterprise organizations around the world remain under a constant vigil as threats, attacks and new vulnerabilities undermine the safety and security of their infrastructures," said BindView Vice President of Field Marketing Chris Smith. "At no point in time has IT security compliance been more critical, particularly as organizations face intense scrutiny to meet multiple regulatory mandates and audit requirements that demonstrate their controls are sound."
