CyberGuard Corporation, a global provider of security solutions that protect the critical components of the largest and most complex information networks for Global 2000 enterprises and government organizations, announced the latest enhancements to its powerful Webwasher CSM Suite that allow large corporations to more effectively report on web and email traffic, detailing security status and policy compliance across multiple time zones.

More and more large businesses are geographically dispersed, yet try to reduce operating costs by centrally managing core IT security functions such as access control, gateway security and policy compliance. Webwasher Content Reporter allows these organizations to report on a wide variety of popular security gateway devices such as CyberGuard Firewalls, Network Appliance NetCache products, Cisco Content Engines and others. Content Reporter's unique ability to automatically detect, collect and process log files makes it an invaluable tool for even very large organizations.

"One significant challenge in the area of security and compliance reporting is the plethora of data that is generated by traffic monitoring applications," said Pat Clawson, CEO of CyberGuard. "Data spanning multiple time zones is a particular headache from a reporting perspective. Webwasher Content Reporter Version 4.6 eliminates this problem by giving the system administrator full control over how these data are treated from a time zone perspective," continued Clawson. This ability to "normalize" time zone information makes the process of analyzing and reporting on dozens of gigabytes of global data far easier for system administrators in centralized data centers.

In addition to simplified reporting, Content Reporter Version 4.6 adds support for the most popular Linux distributions and allows Content Reporter deployments on Unix and Linux to use Microsoft SQL Server installations as back-end repositories for logging and reporting data, thereby significantly reducing the time and investment needed to deploy an enterprise wide reporting solution. Content Reporter Version 4.6 also adds several features which improve ease of use, report access and archival management.

Availability

Webwasher Content Reporter 4.6 will be generally available early December.

07.12.2005, CyberGuard Corp.
