W-Client USB .11g includes Windows 2000, XP and CE support

The new W-Client USB.11g from Funkwerk Enterprise Communications (FEC) provides a fast and flexible secure connection to a WLAN for laptops and other mobile devices such as PDAs or SmartPhones via a simple USB interface. As well as standard drivers for Windows 2000 and XP, the small W-Client USB.11g also comes with drivers for Windows CE, versions 4.2 and 5.0.

The FEC W-Client can be plugged in and out quickly for use on different computers. This makes it ideal for computers without a CardBus or where the slots are already in use. The wireless link can be further improved by using an extension cable so that the USB device works like an external antenna.

Using PRISM NitroTM technology, the performance can be more than tripled in WLAN networks with b + g clients and doubled in pure .11g networks. Support is provided for WPA and WPA2 for maximum security and as well as drivers for x86 and ARM processor platforms, drivers for other processors are available on request.

"The new FEC USB W-Client is a very fast and simple solution to connect to a wireless LAN,” said Morris Becker, international sales manager for Funkwerk Enterprise Communications. "In particular, it is ideal for the increasing number of WinCE PDAs and SmartPhones that come with USB ports as well as embedded PC systems running Windows CE to optimise hardware resources. These systems often have no hard disk and require an external connection to access data, update RAM and download new applications.”
