secunet Security Networks AG will deliver its proven SINA high-security technology to the European administrative Network sTESTA (secured Trans European Services for Telematics between Administrations). The contract volume is in the seven digits range.
The main contracts for this project were awarded to Orange Business Services and HP. As Orange Business Services subcontractor secunet will deliver its SINA crypto-components enabling the network infrastructure to transmit classified information via the SINA high-security technology.
sTESTA is the European Union's classified telecommunication network that replaces several data communication infrastructures at EU level and responds to the growing need for secure information exchange between European and National administrations. The large-scale project is part of the European Commissions IDABC programme (Interoperable Delivery of pan-European e-Government Services to Public Administrations, Business and Citizens).
SINA has proven its worth in the context of numerous applications. Among others, the German Foreign Office uses SINA for global high-security communications between the German embassies and the central office in Berlin.
"Our high security technology is gaining customers not only in Germany but increasingly also abroad", says Dr. Rainer Baumgart, CEO of secunet Security Networks AG. "This very important project gives SINA further credibility, we are confident that we will successfully compete for future contracts in the context of EU-wide projects."
