ANTlab’s Securite software to protect users from around the world from dangers of the Internet, starting with Changi Airport

Home-grown security solution works seamlessly to protect public and corporate users and combat online threats, and is a genuine contender on the world stage

Singaporean network and security solutions provider, Advanced Network Technology Laboratories (ANTlabs), today, announced the launch of its Securite solution to secure Changi Airport with The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). The advanced anti-data theft solution is deployed airport-wide on the free-Internet access terminals at Changi airport.

With Securite, Changi Airport now offers travellers an unrivalled airport-wide secure public Internet service. ANTlabs’ Securite solution prevents viruses and spy-ware from stealing user information when they surf the Internet, giving passengers the confidence to know that their private and sensitive data is safe at all levels when they check their email and transact online at Changi Airport. With over 300 free Internet access terminals throughout the airport, Changi Airport is renowned for having one of the most populous airport-wide free Internet kiosk service for passengers in the world, with over 1.3 million business and leisure travelers alike using the service annually.

"We are delighted to forge this relationship with CAAS. It is a testament to our achievements and ambitions in the security space. This win represents the next phase of our growth and will take ANTlabs beyond our traditional boundaries and provide a springboard for our expansion on the world stage,” said Mr Ang Kwang Tat, CEO of ANTlabs. "Our Securite solution is gathering momentum in the market and we aim to expand our presence in other regions as well as tying up the home front, and we hope to elevate the appeal of our offerings following the successful roll-out at Changi Airport.”

ANTlabs started out traditionally as a solutions provider in the business infrastructure space, and over the years, developed a wide range of service provisioning products that enable businesses to offer more services to its customers. The advent of Securite was a logical extension of the vertical reach of its services offerings directly into the last mile - the consumer space. ANTlabs aims to be a key enabler in the provisioning of service-rich and secure Internet experiences across all industries, supported by a deep R&D operation.

Securing the transaction

Mr Aw Peng Soon, VP of Business Development at ANTlabs, explains: "Securite is a lean, network security software that protects computer users from phishing, malware/spyware, key-loggers and hackers from stealing their confidential information and identity during financial transactions like eBanking and Internet shopping. The key benefit of Securite is that it is totally transparent to the user; it removes the burden of input from the user and works to prevent users from interfacing with malicious content or websites in the first place. It couldn’t be simpler - the Securite ‘shield’ icon lights up green when a site has been verified and red when a risk is detected. It is a form of end-point internet transaction security and complements existing anti-virus software rather than replaces them”.

"Anti-virus/spyware solutions today are still using the decade-old approach of relying on a signature database to detect known threats however. This means a virus would have affected millions of users before it is detected and publicized. ANTlab’s Securite solution delivers advanced anti-malware protection based on a white-list approach, which does not require constant updating of malware signatures and is effective against zero day and man-in-the-middle attacks,” he continues. Notes Ang, ”We are leveraging on our campaign to rollout the use and understanding of the solution and are currently in advanced discussions with various partners and various governments, including collaborations with RadianTrust on optical document security solutions.”

ANTlabs network solutions are used across various industries globally and the company is now poised to further expand their operations to become a trusted partner for governments, businesses and end-users worldwide.

Securite is the first proactive transaction-based online security suite which prevents security breaches before they occur. It is free to download and use for home users, but is available at a very reasonable fee for business users. It also presents a compelling argument for consumers to complete the ‘last mile’ in transacting online when they might have been previously averse to doing so because of the potential risks.
