Pointsec Mobile Technologies, a subsidiary of IT security company Protect Data and a global leader in mobile enterprise security, today announced it has signed an agreement with Hansel Oy, the Finnish Government's central purchasing body.

The Bank of Finland, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, all Finnish Ministries, government agencies, funds and public-service companies are now able to purchase Pointsec products according to the terms agreed by Pointsec and Hansel.

The purpose of this agreement is to ensure the availability of high- quality encryption products for the government, and that the purchasing volume of government units is utilized efficiently. The agreement also aims to enhance the manageability of operating costs.

The agreement between Pointsec and Hansel covers solutions used for protecting desktops, laptops, PDAs and smartphones, e.g. Pointsec(R) for PC, Pointsec(R) for Pocket PC, Pointsec(R) for Palm OS, Pointsec(R) for Symbian OS and Pointsec(R) File Encryption. These enforceable, easily managed and easy to use solutions ensure that an organization's intellectual property is always secure.

Pointsec(R) for PC 4.3 recently became the first hard disk encryption solution to receive the international Common Criteria EAL4 certification. EAL4 is the highest level of certification given to commercial products. EAL4 certification is in many countries a prerequisite for the public sector and other agencies that need more robust tools to keep sensitive information secure.
