Steve Purdham, Chief Executive Officer, and Simon Wilson, Chief Financial Officer of SurfControl plc, a Web and e-mail filtering company, will provide insights into the reasons for the success of their global IT security business next Wednesday at Piper Jaffray's 6th Annual Technology Conference in New York City.

The conference at the New York Palace Hotel features presentations from more than 170 of the most highly regarded and influential public and private company management teams in such sectors as Internet media and marketing, software applications and infrastructure, homeland security technologies and technology and business services. Company and investor participation is by invitation only. SurfControl will speak at 1:45 EDT.

SurfControl is the worldwide revenue leader in the content security market. The two top executives will discuss the company's strategy for helping enterprises, governments and education customers stop all forms of unwanted Internet content and manage the risks associated with Web, e-mail, instant messaging, peer-to-peer networking or wireless. A public company since 1998, SurfControl has consistently developed its filtering software technology and expanded its market share across all technologies, allowing it to deliver continued year on year revenue growth for five years.

SurfControl's management team also will host a private financial analyst meeting on May 18 at the InterContinental The Barclay New York hotel to provide an overview of the company's three-year product roadmap and plans for 2005. Topics to be covered include the company's future product and technology focus, a discussion of the company's core competency in the content filtering market, geographic expansion plans and recent acquisitions in China, as well as financial goals.

The company has stated it currently expects revenues for the year ending June 30, 2005 to be in the range of $97 to $102 million, with EBITDA expected to be in the range of $20 to $25 million. These estimates are based upon management's current assessment of the market in which the Company operates, and may be subject to change depending upon a variety of factors.

Financial analysts interested in attending the meeting should contact Lisa Beatty, SurfControl's U.S. investor relations contact.

SurfControl's Piper Jaffray presentation will be available through a live Webcast at http://www.piperjaffray.com/tcwebcast. The presentation also will be available on the Investor section of the company Web site at http://www.surfcontrol.com/company/investors/calendar.aspx on May 19, 2004.
