Black Dragon CTO Chad Cook to Speak at Burton Group Catalyst Conference

Black Dragon Software LLC, provider of products and services that measure the strength of an organization's IT security, announced that its Chief Technology Officer Chad C. Cook, has been accepted to speak at Burton Group's Catalyst Conference, slated for July 21-23, 2004 at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina, San Diego, Calif.
Cook will deliver a presentation entitled, "Risk Management Means Risk Measurement: Predicting & Insuring against Risk," on July 23.
"Today, there is no accepted unit of measure to quantify security risk, no model to correlate the relationships between elements of risk or security, and no standard to which quantified results can be compared," said Cook. "Those who attend Catalyst will be able to answer such questions as, how do IT security managers identify the weaknesses in their networks, and how do we measure and understand these issues as they relate to our own environment?"
Burton Group's Catalyst Conference is an annual, three-day educational event offering three tracks: Application Platform Strategies, Directory and Security Strategies, and Network and Telecom Strategies. The only conference of its kind, Catalyst brings together vendors, end users and Burton Group analysts/consultants in a dynamic and intimate forum.
With a sold-out program last year, Catalyst is well known for its end-user-driven agenda, intense focus and high-profile speakers. Since the first conference in 1993, Catalyst has reinforced Burton Group's reputation for substance, timeliness, credibility and integrity.
