Black Dragon Software, LLC, provider of products and services that measure the strength of an organization's IT security, announced general availability of proVizor SRM (Security Risk Measurement) version 2.0 at NetSec in San Francisco, June 14 - 16, 2004.

Black Dragon Software's flagship solution, proVizor SRM, is an appliance for measuring, analyzing, and communicating IT security risk based on a consistent, repeatable, and defendable analytic process. The new product version offers an expanded enterprise view of information security with improved analysis and reporting. proVizor SRM v2.0 is also designed to allow clients to import and analyze information gathered from other security tools like scanners, vulnerability assessment tools, and intrusion detection tools. These new features give users a deeper and more accurate understanding of the security which protects their critical information assets.

"More and more people recognize the critical need to measure, analyze, and communicate the strength of security which protects their information assets," said Doug Dormer, President & CEO, Black Dragon Software. "With the enterprise roll-up capability, improved collaboration with other security tools, and expanded analysis and reporting, organizations can now measure, analyze, and communicate the strength of information security at any level across the entire enterprise."

Expanded Analysis & Reporting

With proVizor SRM v2.0 organizations can consolidate information from many separate and even disconnected parts of the enterprise and report security measurement information for all or any part of the enterprise. Users can also perform "what-if" analyses to quantify the impact of a proposed change in their unique security environment.

Extended Architecture for Increased Data Access

proVizor SRM v2.0 allows users to import data from many other commercial and open-source security tools. It is shipped with two of the most common open-source scanner and vulnerability tools, Nmap and Nessus. Thus, proVizor SRM is shipped as a complete solution, yet allows clients to take advantage of other IT security investments.

Increased Possibilities for Partners

"Our customers span a variety of industries from healthcare, banking, engineering, tribal nations, and the public sector at the state, local, and federal levels," said Darrel Bowman, CEO, AppTech, Inc., a full-service technology provider and Black Dragon Partner based in Tacoma, Wash. "Each market has its unique security risks and disparate products to address security management. The new functionality offered in proVizor 2.0 brings a level of cohesiveness to addressing security risk measurement and management to all these industries, allowing AppTech to design the best solutions for our clients."
