nCircle, provider of enterprise-class vulnerability management solutions, announced the release of version 6.2 of the nCircle IP360 Vulnerability Management System. IP360 is the most accurate and scaleable vulnerability management system available, identifying network vulnerabilities and enabling enterprises to proactively protect digital assets from attack.

The new features available within IP360 will enable organizations to quantify and manage business risk, streamline existing IT processes, and increase the efficiency of their security organizations.

"Increasingly, organizations are required to comply with new government regulations on network security in addition to the daunting task of managing large enterprise networks," said Abe Kleinfeld, president and CEO, nCircle. "IP360 version 6.2 provides a solution that delivers accurate identification of policy violations and management controls to monitor that risk. IP360 is the most effective solution to increase overall network security."

"The threat of attacks on corporate networks has become the norm today yet businesses are still reactive in their approach to network security," said Mark Nicolett, Research Vice President, Gartner, Inc. "Vulnerability Management is a technology that enables organizations to take network security into their own hands and become more proactive. Vulnerability Management is an effective approach to network security."

New enhancements in the IP360 Vulnerability Management System include:

Host Policy Baselining

With the introduction of nCircle's Host Policy Baselining, organizations have a method to quantify their business security risk. IP360 is the only vulnerability management solution available today that ensures conformity to an organization's enterprise security policy. Using the 'Host Snapshot' capability, customers can quickly profile a host defined as the 'gold standard.' Customers can then generate comparison reports, identify systems and applications that deviate from the policy, and establish targets for improvement.

Dynamic Host Tracking

Traditionally, keeping track of a particular host is a difficult task within constantly changing DHCP environments. With IP360's Dynamic Host Tracking, customers can reliably identify, track, and audit hosts and their associated IP assignments over time, even as the network changes. Dynamic Host Tracking ensures a consistent and manageable approach for customers that require accurate, long-term trending of their systems and the associated security audit data.

Enhanced Remediation Management

IP360's ticket management system includes a number of enhancements that enable organizations to streamline existing IT processes and increase their IT security team's efficiency. These new features automate the generation and verification of trouble tickets for individual or groups of vulnerabilities on a per-network or global basis. This provides customers with the ability to track the progress of existing remediation efforts, automatically validate the elimination of exposures, and increase accountability for correcting security exposures.

Additional features available with IP360 version 6.2 provide federal agencies and government contractors with functionality to integrate IP360 into their current compliance processes.

Federal Security Compliance Solutions

* nCircle FISMA Compliance Solution
The nCircle FISMA Compliance Solution facilitates and strengthens compliance with the network security requirements mandated by FISMA. The solution includes integration of the ICAT database of vulnerabilities and associated metadata into the IP360 product, new report types, and other features designed specifically for FISMA compliance.

* IAVA Compliance Solution
The nCircle IAVA Compliance Solution facilitates compliance with requirements mandated by the Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) Policy. Requiring no additional integration by customers, the solution integrates IAVA alerts directly into nCircle's vulnerability catalog.

Pricing & Availability

nCircle IP360 version 6.2 is available June 30, 2004. Pricing begins at USD$36,250. nCircle FISMA and IAVA Solutions are priced separately.

02.07.2004, nCircle
