Full Mesh Networks, Inc., a Managed Security Services Provider specializing in WiFi (802.11) and Bluetooth security, announced immediate availability of the first fully managed service offering that provides an instantly deployable, commercial-grade, secure Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) to business customers.

Full Mesh's straightforward approach to wireless networking means that businesses of all sizes, regardless of their level of security or networking expertise, can benefit from their service offerings. Scalable plans range from the all-inclusive, which includes all hardware, to a la carte options.

"We may be a bit ahead of our time with a managed model but when you look at the tremendous cost savings, speed of deployment, and security of such a solution, the appeal is undeniable," said Bill Bullock, co-founder of Full Mesh Networks. "We provide everything a company needs to deploy a secure wireless LAN in days, not months, and with a total ongoing cost of usually less than a dollar per user per month with no additional staff required."

Gartner, a research and advisory firm, describes wireless LANs as the major wireless security problem facing businesses today. According to a report presented at the Gartner IT Security Summit in 2004, 70 percent of successful wireless local area network (WLAN) attacks through 2006 will result from the misconfiguration of WLAN access points (AP) and client software.

"Wireless security is a serious issue not only in the office, but when traveling or at home. The exponential proliferation of WiFi and Bluetooth technology everywhere, combined with the growth in laptop and PDA use, makes for a very dangerous scenario," said Steve Shippa, co-founder of Full Mesh. "By outsourcing the management and monitoring of their WLAN, enterprises can benefit from rapid ROI and the peace of mind that comes with knowing their networks are always secure and running properly."

Full Mesh ships pre-configured 802.1x-enabled/802.11i-ready wireless access points that are pre-integrated into their centrally managed systems and provide management, monitoring, and RADIUS authentication services. Customers manage their users via a secure web portal in real-time.

For additional security, Full Mesh can incorporate IPsec VPN technology to encrypt wireless traffic for a company's employees whether they are in the office, at a hot spot, or on their home network. For the ultimate secure wireless environment, Full Mesh offers a Wireless Intrusion Detection and Response Service which not only monitors all 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth activity, but can also remotely shutdown a hacking attempt within minutes of detection by Full Mesh personnel.

"Everyone knows you have to lock this stuff down but tech companies are often very hard to do business with. So many choices, too much techno-jargon, and unjustifiably high costs abound," added Bullock. "We believe that 'cheaper, better, faster' is the universal language everyone can understand. Our mission is to stand out among our peers in the industry by simplifying the challenges of purchasing and maintaining secure wireless network environments."
