FalconStor and D2B Informatique Sign Agreement to Provide Accelerated Disaster Recovery

FalconStor Software, Inc., developer of network storage infrastructure software solutions, announced an agreement with D2B Informatique, a distributor of storage solutions based in Montreuil, enabling them to deliver a Backup & BareMetal Recovery appliance, powered by FalconStor technology.
Founded in 1989, D2B Informatique specialises in storage, security and asset management. The BBMR appliance complements its existing portfolio of solutions, which encompasses backup/restore, antivirus, firewall and network administration.
"All our customers are aware of the threats posed to their business by unplanned downtime, whatever the cause," said Yves Boccara, managing director of D2B Informatique. "While we help them to prevent this in the first place through our IT security expertise and solutions portfolio, FalconStor's BBMR solution enables us to provide a cost-effective appliance as a safety net that fits the budget of not only enterprise customers, but also mid-range and departmental organizations."
"BBMR is a natural complement to D2B's existing suite of solutions," said Vincent Pajot, FalconStor regional director for the Southern Region (Benelux, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal). "It performs the dual function of addressing different segments of their marketplace and providing reassurance to all of D2B's customers that if they experience any unexpected downtime, the cure is something they can rely on to bring them back on-stream quickly and without data loss."
The IPStor Backup & BareMetal Recovery (BBMR) solution significantly reduces recovery time in the event of a server, desktop, or notebook hard drive crash due to virus attack, software crash, mechanical failure, or human error, by capturing the boot image and data of a designated server, desktop, or notebook. In the case of a local disk failure, BBMR leverages the industry standard protocol, PXE, to boot the system over an IP network without incurring extensive downtime.
