Advancing security and compliance for Microsoft Windows Server System, BindView Corp. announced its support for the latest release of Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005. The new BindView Management Pack for MOM 2005 will enable customers to integrate vulnerability and configuration management solutions from the BindView portfolio with MOM 2005 to enhance IT security and compliance across enterprise environments, and improve IT risk containment.

Announced by Microsoft, MOM 2005 focuses on reducing the cost and complexity of managing and securing enterprise IT environments. BindView will support MOM 2005 through expansion and integration with its Vulnerability Management, Policy Compliance and Directory Administration offerings.

"BindView is a strategic, Microsoft Gold Certified Partner," said David Hamilton, director of the Windows and Enterprise Management Division at Microsoft Corp. "BindView solutions provide customers with highly scalable security and compliance options that help proactively blanket Microsoft systems and applications. Announcement of its Management Pack for MOM 2005 underscores BindView's commitment and support for development for Microsoft platforms and customers worldwide."

"At no point in time have organizations around the world placed more resources and corporate scrutiny on IT security and compliance," said BindView Senior Vice President of Product Marketing Shekar Ayyar. "With strategic dependence upon IT systems and the requirement to meet regulatory due care requirements, BindView is working with Microsoft to provide organizations with increased insight into the configuration and controls of their business-critical IT infrastructures."

BindView Management Pack for MOM 2005

* Compliance: To help manage industry and government mandates -- including Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, GLBA and NERC -- the BindView Management Pack will alert MOM 2005 on baseline deviations from industry best practices such as CIS benchmarks.

* Incident Response: To help manage deviations from acceptable, predefined risk thresholds, the Management Pack will automatically forward alerts to the MOM 2005 operator console, helping IT administrators reduce response times on potential security threats.

* Scalability: With its agentless architecture, BindView pre-packaged or tailored MOM 2005 rules will receive critical events or alerts on potential vulnerabilities, security misconfigurations and policy exceptions across global enterprises, without deploying MOM agents on each system.

Availability

The BindView Management Pack for MOM 2005 will be released upon general availability of MOM 2005 from Microsoft.

26.08.2004, BindView Corp.
