PC Guardian Technologies Inc. announced that Secure Computing Magazine has confirmed the nomination of the company’s Encryption Plus Hard Disk as "Best Encryption" solution in the magazine’s 2005 Global Awards.

Encryption Plus Hard Disk is a disk encryption software program that prevents unauthorized access to 100% of the data stored on computer hard drives. It is effective in helping meet requirements for data security as well as such government privacy initiatives as HIPAA, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and California’s SB 1386.

PC Guardian launched the first version of Encryption Plus Hard Disk 10 years ago. Currently, more than 200 companies in the defense, aerospace, banking and manufacturing industries use Encryption Plus Hard Disk. In addition, numerous government agencies -- including the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of the Army and numerous State of California agencies -- rely on the disk encryption program to protect sensitive information.

Encryption Plus Hard Disk uses a 256-bit AES algorithm and is certified to EAL1 under the international standards for IT security ("Common Criteria"). The software is being tested for EAL4 certification.

Encryption Plus Hard Disk has been a Finalist for "Best Encryption" solution in previous years, has received SC Magazine’s "Highly Commended" award and has received a 5-Star Review by the magazine’s editors.

SC Global Awards winners will be announced next February in San Francisco, Calif., in conjunction with the 2005 RSA Security Conference.

01.10.2004, PC Guardian Technologies Inc.
